Death of Jenni by: Cherissa Allan

It must have been about 3:00 AM when her face turned white as snow. She was awaken by a loud bang at her door. She went back to sleep thinking it must have been the dog. When she was awakened again she saw a man hovering over her. " Who the hell are you". She yelled. He didn't day anything, instead he began to go on top of her. she screamed for help louder than anything but no one was there. He put a pillow over her face and ripped off her clothes. After he raped her she said that she would call the police. He pulled out a gun from the bag he brought in the room and shot her.

She was 16 years old and her parents were out of town.

" Jenni we are home" yelled Mrs. Brown when she walked into her house from a trip she had with her husband. " Jenni Grammy Lisa gave me something for you. It may be a lot of money." she yelled louder as she walked near the staircase. As her husband walked in the house with a handful of bags she began to say that Jenni's Grammy always gives her money.

As Mrs. Brown walked up the stairs she noticed that Jenni's door was still closed. " That's odd, she is usually up by 10:00 watching some show on MTV". As she opened Jenni's door she screamed so loud that you could have heard it from the great wall of China.

" What happened" yelled Mr. Brown as he ran up the stairs. When he came to his daughter's room he found his wife standing over what now was his daughter's dead body. " WHAT HAPPENED" yelled even louder.

" I- I'm not sure" she stuttered. MRS. Brown began to cry when her husband began punching the wall. " I'll call the police" she said over the loud thunder of her husband. While downstairs trying to call the police MRS. Brown heard her husband throwing things and screaming " Why her lord, why my sweet little Jenni". After a couple more minutes of crying MRS. Brown called the police. They were at the house in at least five to ten minutes.

The detective on the case told the couple his name and asked them what they had saw. MR. and MRS. Brown told the police where they were and what happened when they had gotten home. "Do you know who could have done this to your daughter" asked Detective Roberts as his partner, detective O'Hara, searched the home for some clues. The couple tell the detective that they were not sure who would kill a sweet girl like Jenni. They said she was honest and never had sex. The detectives say goodbye to the Browns as the dead body was being taken to the morgue.

The next day the detectives had a clue of of a possible killer. At around 12:00 the detectives visited the morgue. " The victim was at least a month pregnant" said Doctor Corrine Johnson.

" Maybe the boyfriend or ex-boyfriend killed Jenni" responded detective O'Hara. Detective O'Hara walked around the morgue and thought of more possible suspects other than the boyfriend. As detective O'Hara thought of more potential suspects, detective Roberts continued to have a conversation with Doctor Corrine Johnson.

" Corrine do you have any other clues to who the suspect may have been" asked detective Roberts.The Doctor responded by saying that she had some hair samples form the killer. Detective Roberts thanked the Doctor and told detective O'Hara that it was time for them to have another visit with the Browns.

" Come in. Its nice to see you again". said MRS. Brown as she opened the door.

" What can we do for you guys this time" asked MR. Brown as the detectives walked into the living room.

" We came to ask you if you knew of any boyfriends Jenni could have had". stated detective Roberts as he sat on a chair near the front door.

" She has- I mean had a boyfriend named Lucas Rodriguez" responded MRS. Brown. She also stated that he lived in the Bronx with his mom and stepfather.

" Why do you need to know if Jenni had a boyfriend? Do you think he may be the killer?" asked MR. Brown as the detectives began to get up to leave.

Detective O'Hara told the Browns that their daughter was a month pregnant at the time of her death. MRS. Brown began to cry louder than she had the day she found Jenni's body. She yelled that who ever killed Jenni killed her grandchild shouldlive in hell for eternity . After a at least ten more minutes in the house the detectives said goodbye and told the Browns that they will call them if they have any more clues.

While driving to the home of Lucas Rodriguez, detective O'Hara began to cry and think about her own daughter, who is the same age as Jenni.

" Who are you" asked Lisa Rodriguez, mother of Lucas Rodriguez. After the detectives show her their badge she states " If your looking for Johnny he ain't here."

As Lisa Rodriguez tries to close the door the detectives say " we are here to talk to your son, Lucas." When MRS. Rodriguez finally lets them in they tell her why they want to talk to Lucas. She tells them that he was down the street playing basketball with some of his friends.

As they drove towards the park the detectives think about how Lucas would react when they tell him that his girlfriend and unborn child was killed. " Yo, any of you guys know a boy named Lucas Rodriguez" asked detective Roberts as they entered the park.

" Yhea, who you" responded one of the men sitting on a bench with what seemed like his son. The detectives told him who they were and the reason they wanted to speak to Lucas. The man told the detectives where Lucas was and that he was Lucas' father.

"Yo, Lucas come over here, some people want to speak to you about your girl Jenni" yelled MR. Rodriguez.

"What up" responded Lucas as he ran toward the detectives.

"Um. where very sad to tell you this but your girlfriend has been killed last night and she was a month pregnant". said detective O'Hara with a crock in her voice. " We'll also like to ask you where you were around 3:30 AM and we'll like to take a sample of your hair"

" Do you really think I'll kill my girlfriend and my unborn child" yelled Lucas so everyone in the park could here him. " You can have a sample of my hair but it'll come up negative". he said after he calmed down.

After crying he told the detectives of a possible suspect, a young man named Jason Smith, who could have killed Jenni. Lucas told the detectives that Jenni told Jason she was not interested in him. He also told them that Jason said to Jenni, " you are going to regret this , remember my words." Lastly he told them that Jason lives a house away from Jenni.

Lucas' hair was not a match to the hair found on Jenni.

After getting information from Lucas the detective rushed to Judge Ambles and asked her for an arrest warrant.

" You raped her so she could see what she missed out and you killed her because you thought no other guy should be with her, didn't you didn't you answer me" yelled Detective.

" I killed her alright" yelled Jason. " She didn't have a right to talk to me the way she did. And Lucas he's Puerto Rican..... He don't belong here" yelled Jason even louder.

Jason was sent to jail an hour after his confession. He didn't know that Jenni was a month pregnant at the the time. A couple of days later he was let out on bail until his court hearing and was shot to death by Lucas Rodriguez- Jenni's boyfriend.

Lucas yelled " You son of a b you killed my girlfriend so you deserve to die. You got to go to hell and burn for life".

Lucas was sent to jail after they found out that he killed Jason and he also got death for his crime.
